Q When I enrol for a class at BigHugGym, how long is my child enroled for?
A BigHugGym enrolment for classes is on a semester basis. The classes run throughout the whole school year, but due to payments, the school year is divided into 3 trimesters. This affords us the best opportunity to progress your child’s skills semester by semester, year by year.
Q What are my payment options for classes?
A BigHugGym offers a payment for a trimester, whereby all the info for payment will be sent by email to your address, so you can make it comfortably via online banking.
Q May my child join a semester after it has started?
A You may join our classes at any time during a semester. Our programs are designed to challenge your child at his or her own level at any point in a semester.
Make-up Classes
Q If my child misses a class, do I lose that class?
A BigHugGym understands that life can be hectic and extends the opportunity to make-up the missed classes, provided your tuition is current. Make-ups must be made within the current trimester only (to transfer make up lessons to a next trimester is possible only in a case you paid the fee for a next trimester), whereby all of the parents have their own account in our software, where you can sign your child out from the actual lesson and sign in for make up lesson subsequently.
Q Am I guaranteed make-up classes if my child is absent?
A BigHugGym will make every effort to accommodate your make-up needs; however, because make-ups require an available space in class, we unfortunately cannot always guarantee one. BigHugGym would like to ask you to sign online in, for make up lesson.
Q If my child would like to participate in a make-up, what do I need to do?
A We would like to ask you to check the make up lesson out for your child online on your account.
Q What happens if my child can’t attend a make-up class? Will I receive a refund?
A BigHugGym will make every effort to accommodate your make-up needs; however, we do not provide refunds, credits or alternate make-ups for missed make-up classes.
Refunds
Q What happens if my child is unable to complete the semester?
A All fees are non-refundable. If the child withdraws on or before their second class, her/his tuition fee may be applied only to the next semester. Tuition fees are forfeited for withdrawals after this date. Under special circumstances, a child enrolled in the next semester may be allowed to carry forward incomplete classes from the current semester. A processing fee will be applied for all transfers. Please ask a BigHugGym staff for details.
Class Observation
Q Will I be able to observe my child’s class?
A BigHugGym provides a spacious lobby with plenty of viewing windows and we encourage you to observe your child’s class. Since a very important part of class is the development of the student/teacher relationship, we ask for your cooperation in not entering the gym or coaching from the lobby. If our instructors need your assistance, they will ask.
Clothing
Q What should my child wear to class?
A Your child should wear clothing that fits snugly without restricting movement. We also ask your child to remove jewellery, and for safety reasons, all children are asked to be barefoot.
Q What should I wear to my child’s Parent/Child class?
A Comfortable clothing is recommended. Adults are required to wear socks and we do ask for your cooperation in removing shoes before entering the gym.
